Job Interview Preparation: Prepare Questions & Answers

If you’re trying to anticipate and prepare for interview questions and answers early, you wouldn’t have to worry so much about saying the wrong things to the prospective employer. In fact, you can have a better chance to win the job if enough effort was put in to your job interview preparation. Do research about the potential company and check out its products and services, recent news, company’s goals, and mission statement. Then during the interview, you’ll be ready to provide accurate answers, ask intelligent questions, and demonstrate how suitable you’re for the job.

So, how to do research about the company so that you can use the information to prepare for your session?

  1. Visit the employer’s website for latest news, products, company’s philosophy, vision and mission statement.
  2. Check out Thomas Register Directory, or other resources at your local library to ensure the company carries a good name.
  3. Plan a list of items you want to research and learn more, for example, the financial indices, plans for productivity improvement, and lean six sigma.
  4. Call the human resource department for information you wish to know, and ask for brochures and other materials that will help you understand if the particular company is right for you.
  5. Your preparation and research can be a little easier if you’re working on a large organization. Check out the Business Week, Wall Street Journal, and Fortune magazines to learn more.
  6. Explore the company using Google Search Engine and look for job seeker’s forums and posts to better understand the particular business.

The more you anticipate and prepare for interview questions, the more confidence you’ll have during the session. People who spend lots of their time in the preparation will very likely get hired. So, do your research ahead of time and win the job.
